FIA drivers would have the opportunity to have a chat with people from RallyClassics, the evenings of monday, tuesday and wednesday, at the reception of Hotel Miramar, at 19h00.

Crews could collect their road-books and maps at these meetings, and ask all the doubts and matters about the Rally Costa Brava.

From tuesday morning the secretariat will be open at HQ, Hotel Olympic Suites, to make administrative checks and collect all recce-rally material.

Only the Historic rally cars can stay from thursday evening to sunday midday at the parc fermé, just in front of  FIA Hotels (Excelsior, Marsol and Miramar).

All trailers and vans must park at the big parking situated on the road from Lloret to Tossa. As an  exception, trucks and trailers with visible Historic rally cars on them, can use the parc fermé during thursday night. At 09h00 must leave the parc fermé.

All recce cars, rental cars and prived cars, have another parking at the end of the Passeig Marítim, only 300 mts from FIA Hotels.

53 teams with Historic cars have sent  the entry form: 33 of them corresponding to FIA, 4 are from the national championship, and 16 will do regularity.

8 STRATOS !!! That will probably be a Record Guiness...or not; but for sure will be the most important motorsport concentration we have never ever had in Spain.

If you like the old style rallies, don't miss Rally Costa Brava in Lloret de Mar. Bjorn Waldegard and Sandro Munari, with a lot of enthusiastic owners of the real rally cars, will show their collection the 7th and 8th of november on the roads near Lloret.

The Village at Paseo Marítimo of Lloret de Mar will be full, from friday midday. The Shakedown and the scrutineering (at the sports hall) will be another attraction for the spectators, while the Historics will be doing the first leg during the afternoon and evening.

After de start ceremony of the Modern cars at 20h30, the Historicos will have a rest at the parc fermé on the Paseo Marítimo.

On saturday, the leg will start with 130 cars (50 Historics + 80 Moderns).

At  the village it will be an exhibition of mini-cars hand-made by Henri Barthel, and a stunt moto show.

After the price-givings (Historics at 20h00 and Moderns at 22h30) it will be a popular "fideuá" (tipical spanish food) to close the Rally Costa Brava, again at the European FIA rally Championship.

Sandro Munari (Lancia Stratos Alitalia) and Bjorn Waldegard (Ford Escort Solloway) will be present at the 56 Rally Costa Brava.

The motorsport history will stay in Lloret for a weekend. The legend will be there, and we will see the two great drivers in the oldest spanish rally.

The authentic fans can not miss this opportunity: Lloret de Mar 7th and 8th of november.

An 80% of the entry forms received till now are from crews with Historic cars, including the national event and the spanish regularity. The interest in Spain for the Historics is growing a lot since 2002. The Rally Costa Brava will be a great meeting for spectators and drivers, as nobody wants to miss it.

From the very first day we are receiving entry forms, to participate to the FIA Historic Rally Costa Brava.

During two days Mr. Stan Minarik has been doing the observation of the Rally Costa Brava preparations. Road-book and safety plan are completed, and cheked by the FIA observer, who said the work done is great. Safety plan and stages were very well considered, and the landscape was very good; exceptional atmosphere in Lloret, ready to receive the rally, and the best HQ at Evenia Suites Hotel...were some feelings of Mr. Minarik.

Girona airport (Ryanair) is about 40 kms from Lloret de Mar, by motorway, let's say some 35'.

Lloret is about 75 kms north of Barcelona, which means you will need 1h30' from the Barcelona airport (10 kms south of Barcelona) to Lloret de Mar, using the ring road.

If you come with ferry from Genova to Barcelona, you must drive by motorway direction France/Girona, it will take 1h15' to do some 75 kms.

During the Rally Alpi Orientali we did receive a lot of confirmations from teams wishing to come to the Rally Costa Brava. The rally in Udine and Cevidale del Fruli was fantastic, and we learned a lot from the organisers.

We must thank the organisers (Eleonora and Fauchille were really helpfull) and all the people from FIA (Rod, Juha, John, Heribert) who helped us to learn and undestand many details, very usefull for the Rally Costa Brava, new at this FIA Historic Rally Championship.

Mr. Stan Minarik will check all the routes of the Rally Costa Brava during two days at the beginning of september. The FIA wants to be sure the special stages will be similar to last years', when Mr. Jean-Claude Menut was oberver, and defined the rally roads as superb.

The itinerary this year will be of 6 different stages, from 5 to 25 kms, for a total of 154 kms of special stages.

The Rally Costa Brava will accept 50 historic cars for the FIA Historic Rally Championship (provided with HTP), and the Spanish Trophees. Entries at 1.000  euros includes hotels (4 nights), welcome and prize-giving dinners, 2 professional road-books, 2 metalic collection rally plates, one DVD. Entries will be accepted from the 1st of september.

RallyClassics will be present at the next meeting, Rally Alpi Orientali, to accept the first entries directly from the drivers competing there. The entry form will be published only the 1st september, but the drivers following the FIA Championship will have the chance to fill their entry forms before, to assure the place.
